About Commissioner
Leslie Duncan
A COMMITMENT TO EXCELLENCE
In the 5 years I have served as Kootenai County Commissioner, I have consistently voted against over regulation, voted in favor of homeowners and peoples’ rights, and against unnecessary spending. Repairing and developing relationships with other elected officials, department heads, and staff has been a focus of mine since day one in office. One complaint many people have about government is the bureaucracy or “red tape” by which governments operate. I have worked on and improved multiple policies covering matters of expenditures, human resources, and processes for the public to obtain better, more efficient service.

My history working in law enforcement as a criminal investigator, reserve police officer, and liaison to Los Angeles, Oxnard and Santa Barbara Police Departments has given me great insight into government operations. Owning and running a television production company for 14 years has given me the insight needed to search out and accomplish more efficient ways of doing things.

I’m committed to limited government, following the US and Idaho State Constitutions and protecting peoples’ rights. My voting record has proven I vote my values. I follow the law, county policy, and best practice faithfully and I am currently working on long range plans for facilities, staff, and technology.

I am asking for your support to allow me to continue to serve the amazing citizens of Kootenai County by re-electing me as your District 3 County Commissioner.
